The venerable canon 80-200mm 4.5-5.6

leave us alone you
take it easy, we should wave
cute little human

Feels like the bird on the left waved, and the bird on the right couldn’t be bothered with me.  They were also about the only target I saw far enough away for me to shoot with the longer side of this lens during a quick 20 minute walk.  Picked up this lens on the super cheap while I was buying another 35-80mm to take apart.

    • Well the canon 70-200mm f/4 (not the image stab. one) is $575 refurb. You could order one up next time you are in the states ;D

My real “cheap choice” would have been the ef 70-210mm f/4 (about $110 US). She’s an older zoom/push/pull style but the optics are decent and at least there’s the constant aperature. But honestly I’m telling myself to stop buying the low-end stuff and just save for the quality glass.

I got a a deal on the 80-200 & a 35-80 from ebay for $50. I’m going to take the 35-80mm apart and use it for a macro lens. Apparently after removing 3 screws and some encouragement from a hammer you have a perfectly serviceable little macro lens.
